Gemma Millar-Cook

When Gemma moved to Sydney, Australia in 2010, she discovered Yoga. Gemma was working as a Production Manager in the television industry and needed yoga to deal with the high pressures of work. It took five years to sign up and train as a Yoga teacher but when she did, it changed her life. She met life long friends but also found a passion for teaching she didn’t realise was there.

Yoga is now a way of life. Gemma teaches other fitness classes but needs Yoga to provide a balance. Having had a baby in June 2018, returning to Yoga slowly has helped her return to pre-baby strength. Gemma teaches a strong vinyasa flow to beautiful music. Immerse yourself with the breath, posture and beat.

Emily Huckstep

I wholeheartedly believe that yoga is for everybody and every body, and that being ‘healthy’ doesn’t look the same for everyone.

My ethos is about supporting people to find their own sense of balance as individuals, about finding what works for you, and about stepping away from the idea of health and wellbeing as a one-size-fits-all concept.

I currently hold a 200hr Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow teaching certificate and am available for group classes, 1:1 lessons, and retreats.

George Cook

After almost two decades of serious and unpleasant declining health, at just 19, George decided to take a rather controversial approach to his health and wellbeing.

From almost monthly visits between doctors, dentist and the hospital for a very long time to going cold turkey, George decided that he had the will to take his health into his own hands after never having much luck with the professionals he had worked with.

Through the use of meditation, veganism, exercise and transforming his outlook on many aspects of his life, George has not only made a shocking recovery, but an inspiring transformation which he wishes to guide others to doing with their own health, understanding that conventional methods aren’t necessarily for everyone.

Clizia Dosanjh

My love for yoga sparked when I was 16, during a challenging time in my life. Since then, this discipline has only been deepening my passion for sharing with others the benefits of living more present and soulfully.

I took my first teacher training in Kundalini Yoga in 2014, followed by my 200hrs in Integral Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga in 2016, and I’ve been teaching ever since.

I love to move with intention, uniquely blending different styles of yoga to create an inner balance between mind body and soul, and promote a deeper sense of lasting wellbeing.

Maria Claridge

Karen Mallen

Hello my name is Karen and I am a fully qualified Baby Massage, Baby Yoga and Rainbow Kids Yoga instructor with a wealth of experience running private and group sessions. I moved to Bournemouth in May 2016 from North Lincolnshire where I was running both my own courses and one off sessions for a range of local children’s centres.

I became fascinated with baby massage after attending a course with my son Milo and noticed how much it helped him sleep and really sooth his colic. After the first session I massaged him every night before bed with amazing results. The course taught me a range of helpful strokes to ease him through numerous stomach aches and blocked noses.

It was with my second child Effie that I attended my first baby yoga class and found it a great way to start gentle exercise after birth. The gentle stretches were very beneficial for my aches and pains and I learned breathing techniques which I found great to use when winding down at the end of a busy day. Effie seemed to love the yoga moves which made her more body aware and confident and really helped her digestion and sleep. The closeness and interaction through both classes really helps you bond and build trust.

After adopting baby massage and baby yoga as part of my daily routine in my childrens early stages, I became fascinated with the history and benefits of both baby massage and baby yoga. After reading a range of books I decided to change my career and train to be a baby massage and baby yoga instructor.

I have not looked back since and love what I do, I could not imagine doing anything else. Many of the people that attend my baby massage course would then attend my baby yoga class and as such I continue to make great friends and a lovely network of mums, dad and carers.

In 2018 I completed my training in Rainbow Kids Yoga, this now allowing me to add exciting new classes from toddler to 18 and family yoga. Yoga is a fun way for children to develop a variety of important skills in a nurturing, non-competitive environment. From a young age children begin to experience pressure to preform academically and socially. Add to this the pressure of competitive organized sport and it is easy for a children to become overly self critical, and lose confidence in themselves. During this time, yoga can be a great remedy for the tension associated with daily stressors as well as an important facilitator of healthy physical, emotional and cognitive development.

People speak about the importance of health and exercise, the importance of education, the importance of discipline… but what about the importance of FUN?

Claire Terry

I have been practising yoga on and off since I was in my teens, and I qualified as a Yoga Teacher in 2016. My classes are suitable for all levels – there’s no such thing as not being flexible enough to practice yoga – that’s like saying you’re too dirty to have a bath! I qualified in traditional Hatha yoga, where poses are held for up to a minute, but I personally practice Vinyasa, or flowing Yoga, so my classes have become a gentle mix of the two. In December 2018 I qualified in Pregnancy Yoga with Sally Parkes, after having more and more ladies at my classes that were pregnant, and I now offer Pre and Post Natal yoga, as well as Mum & Baby classes.

Karley Woodford

I have undertaken a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course in Rishikesh, India, which focussed on Hatha teachings, with some Ashtanga & Iyengar Influence. I am also currently taking further training with the British School of Yoga in order to continue to develop my understanding of the teachings and implementation of those into everyday life.

My teaching style is all about fun, fierce determination and love; we’ll sweat, meditate and stretch and be left feeling blissed out and ready to face the world with the same attitude that we adopt on our mats. My yoga classes are designed to suit every body and everybody! Each of us are beautifully different in our bodies and spirits, recognising this and welcoming it in to your practice and everyday life unlocks the door to infinite potential and achievement.

Come and practice with me and we will share in laughter and lightness, challenge our bodies to discover new shapes, attune our senses, lengthen our breath, and develop the union of mind and body.

“I have started my yoga journey 5 years ago through which I have been fascinated by the amazing benefits which Yoga can promote. I have soon realised that I have found my path and the desire to share it with others started to grow daily. I have completed my Teacher training at the prestigious institution Sampoorna Yoga in India in 2017, specialized in Ashtanga and Vinyasa.

I now teach Vinyasa classes over two years which I believe is fun also relaxing at the same time. I also believe Vinayasa is a perfect way to realise and keep harmony of the body, mind and spirit trough the usage of our breath, blending everything together to nourish the entire existance. “

Tanyia Hughes

After surviving a serious road accident in 2002, I spent 18 months using various therapies to regain mobility and stability. I was then introduced to yoga and found that it helped not only with my physical recovery, but with my symptoms of PTSD.

Since that time I have trained as a psychotherapist and worked in the mental health field, most recently within the NHS. Through my work, I have realised that there were many people that would also benefit from yoga for their mental health issues.

I recently travelled to India and completed teacher training in Hatha and meditation. I am currently learning the art of yoga nidra and exploring how combining therapy and yoga can help with anxiety, depression and trauma.

Lara Cockayne

In 1999 I started doing yoga, loved it, practised and studied it. Then I reached a point where the only way to continue developing my practice was to train as a teacher. So I did in 2009 – in the Sivananda style with New Forest Yoga school and I have been teaching ever since! I have developed my own eclectic style influenced by hatha, Sivananda and Yin. My aim is to work with you and your body as we are all individuals and teach in an informal style.

My background is in Judo and I found the martial arts discipline and body awareness to be a good basis for Yoga.

What started me off in alternative therapies was coming across Reiki as an alternative to use for my boys when they were ill or injured though rugby. This started me on my journey working with energy! I am a Reiki Master.

I’ve been doing reflexology since 2009. It was the treatment I always enjoyed the most and found the most beneficial. I trained at Bournemouth and Poole College because I wanted to help other people with it. I love feet and find them quite fascinating and each foot will tell a story.

I studied Gong Therapy with the College of Sound Healing under the guidance of Sheila Whittaker over the period of a year. I had always been drawn to the gongs before my training and so it seemed a natural path to follow to learn more about them. I am a gong junkie and am lucky to have a beautiful family of gongs! In 2016 I had the opportunity of visiting Germany Broder Oetken Gongs factory  and making my own gong under the expert guidance of Master Gong maker Broder Oetken,  giving me an insight into the making of gongs as already having learnt how to play them.

I believe that laughter is one of the best medicines! When we are sad we can trick the brain by forced laughter to release happy endorphins! I am a fully qualified Laughter yoga leader.
